Report: Birmingham City ask Diego Fabbrini to train alone

Birmingham City midfielder Diego Fabbrini is reported to have been asked to train alone after being deemed surplus to requirements at St Andrew's.

Birmingham City midfielder Diego Fabbrini has been left to train alone after being deemed surplus to requirements at St Andrew's, according to a report.

The Championship outfit paid £1.5m to sign Fabbrini from Watford in January 2016, but the Italian has gone on to make just nine starts and 12 substitute outings in the Championship.

Following a season-long loan with Spanish minnows Real Oviedo last term, Fabbrini has seemingly been told that he does not feature in Garry Monk's plans and has also been made available for transfer.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the 28-year-old was initially allowed to train with the Blues' Under-23s in order to maintain his fitness, but has now been asked to train alone at Wast Hills.

Fabbrini has less than 12 months remaining on his Birmingham contract and is believed to be a target for Italian side Siena.
