Blackpool could go top of the Championship with a win over Barnsley on Saturday. Sports Mole looks ahead to the fixture.

Blackpool manager Paul Ince will be glad to switch his attention back to the Championship when Barnsley visit Bloomfield Road on Saturday for the club's first home game of the season.

Ince has spoken openly about crowd issues after Preston fans charged the pitch following victory over their Lancashire rivals in the Capital One Cup on Monday.

Despite the cup defeat, Ince's men picked up an away win at Doncaster on the opening day and could go top of the table with a win over rockbottom Barnsley, who were thrashed 4-0 by Wigan on Saturday.

Ince could return to the XI that beat Doncaster after making some changes for the trip to Preston.

For the Tykes, their summer acquisition from Bayern Munich, Dale Jennings, will be unavailable for selection after his red card just six minutes into his debut from the bench against the Latics.

Flitcroft's men have had a day's less rest than the Tangerines and also had to endure 120 minutes and penalties to beat Scunthorpe in the League Cup on Tuesday.

When these two sides last met in February it was Barnsley who stole a late victory thanks to Jason Scotland. The Trinidadian will be hoping to force his way into David Flitcroft's starting XI after missing out against Wigan.
