Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine open to long-term Blackpool move

Sheffield Wednesday loanee Gary Madine believes that he could make his Blackpool stay a permanent one this summer.

On-loan striker Gary Madine has revealed that he could become a permanent Blackpool player after impressing recently for the Tangerines.

The 24-year-old is on loan from fellow Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and has scored three goals in eight games since making the switch to the league's bottom side last month.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, Madine, who is out of contract at Hillsborough this summer, said: "The gaffer (Lee Clark) hasn't spoken to me about next season yet but if he does we will have a chat. You never know.

"I've really enjoyed it, even though it's obviously difficult being bottom of the league and everything.

"I have a gaffer here who I really respect and the lads are great. I can't say a bad word about anyone here."

With seven games of the season remaining, Blackpool are 17 points from safety and starting relegation in the face.
