Owen Coyle has said that he is waiting and hoping to see Fabrice Muamba smile again after doctors said that the player was showing signs of improvement.

Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during Bolton Wanderers' FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

"We wait and hope for continued improvement," Coyle said.

"We are all after the same objective — to see that lovely young man, who has such a fantastic smile.

"That's what we want to see again."

Muamba remains in intensive care, where he can move his arms and legs and communicate with family.
