Nigel Reo-Coker: "We are remaining positive"

Nigel Reo-Coker insists that Bolton are upbeat, despite their rough start.

Bolton midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has said that the club are remaining positive, despite their difficult start to the season.

The Trotters, whose opponents have included Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs, are in the relegation zone after losing five of their first six games of the current league campaign.

However, as the team prepare to face Chelsea at the Reebok Stadium this afternoon, Reo-Coker insists that the club are upbeat about the season ahead.

"I am one of the best at having a long face," he said. "I'm not a very good loser. But we are remaining positive, the league is just starting.

"When you go through a tough time it makes you a stronger and better individual. The boss keeps telling us that too.

"We need to get back to that mentality of being Bolton bully boys. We can show what we can do football-wise, but we need to mix it with the old-school hunger and desire."

Reo-Coker joined Bolton on a free transfer earlier this summer, after he was allowed to leave Aston Villa.
