Marco Reus faces three months on sidelines

The ankle injury picked up by Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus is expected to keep the German international on the sidelines for three months.

Borussia Dortmund's club doctor Markus Braun has revealed that winger Marco Reus could be sidelined for three months.

Reus has been ruled out of the World Cup after suffering a foot injury during Germany's friendly with Armenia last week, and after further tests on the problem, Braun has admitted that the 25-year-old won't be fit enough to feature at the start of next season.

Braun told the club's official website: "The tests revealed that, in addition to his ankle injury, Reus also suffered damage to the heel bone with an expected recovery time of about three months."

Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc stated earlier this week that despite reported interest from England and Spain, Reus would be remaining at the Bundesliga outfit.
