Jon Stead: It was a "dog fight"

Bradford City striker Jon Stead describes his side's FA Cup quarter-final draw with Reading as a "dog fight".

Bradford City striker Jon Stead has admitted that he was disappointed not to have edged out Reading in the FA Cup after describing the quarter-final tie as a "dog fight".

In a scrappy game at Valley Parade, neither team were able to make the breakthrough, but Stead felt that the home side could have won the game.

"It was a dog fight," Stead told BT Sport. "Reading changed the way they play to match us and our style and it was just two teams going at it 100% and it was a proper Cup tie.

"I'm disappointed because we feel we can do better. I felt the quality didn't really shine through. We needed a goal really but we limited them to a few chances if anything really.

"As I say I'm a little bit disappointed because we haven't gone through. We started the second half brightly and we pinned them in. We can take great credit from that but we've got to go [to the Madejski] now. We'll give it everything we've got."

The two teams will reconvene for their quarter-final replay on March 17.
