Menezes: 'Neymar struggling with high standards'
Mano Menezes believes Neymar only has critics because of the standards he has set for himself.

Brazil coach Mano Menezes has said that star player Neymar is struggling to maintain the standards he has set for himself with his performances in recent seasons.

Neymar has received criticism for his inconsistency recently, including from Egypt boss Hany Ramzy after Brazil's 3-2 win over Egypt, but Menezes has put it down to the standards now expected of the young striker.

"[Neymar's] critics are natural due to the great form he has enjoyed in recent months and even years," Menezes said.

"Criticism appears when your performance levels drop below the expectations that you created.

"He must learn to live with [the criticism]. He needs to do everything he can to return to the important player that we need to help us in these Olympics."

Brazil take on Belarus on Sunday.
