Germany progressed to their eighth World Cup final in style this evening as they humiliated hosts Brazil with a 7-1 drubbing in Belo Horizonte.
Thomas Muller, Miroslav Klose, Toni Kroos (2) and Sami Khedira gave the Germans a 5-0 lead inside half an hour, while two Andre Schurrle strikes in the second half made Oscar's 90th-minute consolation even more worthless.

BRAZIL
Goal
Julio Cesar: Powerless to resist the waves of German attacks as he was given no protection from his defence. Couldn't do much about any of the goals, although he may feel that he should have parried the second further away from Klose. (3/10)
Defence
Maicon: Part of a shambolic defensive performance but by no means the worst offender in the backline. Abandoned his defensive duties a few times in favour of attacking in the opening exchanges, and charged out of position ahead of the second goal. (3/10)
David Luiz: Utterly hopeless. Given the armband in place of the suspended Thiago Silva but failed to get any sort of cohesion to the defence. Was caught out of position time and time again and was largely at fault for a number of the goals. Did look quite good on the ball at times, but that does not make up for a dreadful performance in which he seemed to forget that he was a defender. (0/10)
Dante: May wish he never got his chance in the World Cup after tonight's display. Was not as bad as the man alongside him but struggled to deal with the rampant German attack throughout. (2/10)
Marcelo: A contender for the worst player on the park. Seemed for forget about his defensive duties even more than Luiz as he bombed up the left flank time after time, only for Germany to catch him out of position on the break. (0/10)
Midfield
Luiz Gustavo: Completely overrun in midfield and could do nothing about it. Simply outclassed in the middle by a dominant Germany. (3/10)
Fernandinho: Did the bullying against Colombia last time out but was emphatically put in his place by the German midfield today. Lost possession carelessly to allow Germany through for the fourth goal and was taken off at half time. (1/10)
Oscar: Struggled to make any real impact on the match until his goal in the 90th minute. Was not as bad as some of his teammates, but still not exactly a good performance. (4/10)
Attack
Hulk: Hauled off at half time after another poor display in which he failed to trouble the German defence at all. (2/10)
Bernard: Faced with the unenviable task of replacing Neymar in the side and never really had a chance to show what he can do as Germany ran riot. (3/10)
Fred: Has had the faith of Scolari throughout, but this could be the final straw. It would be a surprise if he ever played for his country again. Simply had no impact on the match and was booed off in the 70th minute. (1/10)
Substitutes
Paulinho: Came on at half time and steadied the ship a little as Brazil improved slightly from their woeful display in the opening 45 minutes. Probably should have scored but was denied by a fine save. (5/10)
Ramires: Added a bit more drive to the Brazil midfield and certainly aided their minor improvement in the second half having come on at the break. (6/10)
Willian: Came on with 20 minutes remaining and with his side already 6-0 down. There is only a certain amount you can do in such a situation and Willian never really got a chance to make an impact. (6/10)

GERMANY
Goal
Manuel Neuer: Enhanced his reputation as the best goalkeeper in the world. Had nothing to do in the first half but made a couple of good saves after the break, including one that falls into the world-class bracket. Was always looking to spring a quick break, even with his side 7-0 up. Was livid at conceding late on. (9/10)
Defence
Philipp Lahm: Another commanding display from the skipper, who has flourished since returning to his spot at right-back. Created the third and sixth goals and dealt with Brazil's limited threat comfortably. (9/10)
Jerome Boateng: Had a comfortable and quiet night as the men in front of him did most of the work. Easily dealt with most of the danger that came his way. (8/10)
Mats Hummels: Had nothing to do before being brought off with his side 5-0 up at half time. (7/10)
Benedikt Howedes: Most of Germany's joy came down the other flank, but it was still a solid display from the left-back. (8/10)
Midfield
Thomas Muller: Opened the scoring in the 11th minute having lost his marker from a corner. Was tireless throughout and also set up the seventh goal, although that was all about the finish. (9/10)
Sami Khedira: Ran the show in the first half as Germany were unstoppable. Broke forward on a number of occasions and set up the fourth goal before getting his own name on the scoresheet moments later. Was taken off with just under 15 minutes remaining. (10/10)
Bastian Schweinsteiger: A key member of Germany's dominant midfield. Didn't manage to get a goal or an assist to his name, but played a big part in helping his side run riot. (8/10)
Mesut Ozil: Even in such a dominant German display he looked short of his best. Played a few nice passes here and there but blew a great chance for an eighth goal just before Oscar's consolation. (7/10)
Toni Kroos: Probably the best player on the park. Was impeccable with his passing all night and really got the rout going with two goals in the space of a minute. Also got the assist for the opening goal. (10/10)
Attack
Miroslav Klose: Justified his selection with the second goal of the game, a poacher's effort that he needed two bites at. In the process, he became the highest scorer in the history of the World Cup, netting in the finals for the 16th time to overtake Ronaldo. A huge achievement. (8/10)
Substitutes
Per Mertesacker: Came on at half time and looked a little shaky at times when Brazil started to apply a bit of pressure immediately after the break. Eased into the match, though, and didn't have much to do after weathering the initial storm. (7/10)
Andre Schurrle: Made another big impact off the bench, replacing Klose just before the hour mark and going on to score twice, the second of which was the pick of the whole bunch. (9/10)
Julian Draxler: Didn't have much time to make an impact on the game having replaced Khedira with 14 minutes left on the clock. (6/10)
