Brentford boss Mark Warburton praises players for win after difficult week

Brentford boss Mark Warburton describes their win against Bournemouth as "perfect".

Brentford manager Mark Warburton has praised the reaction of his players after they beat Bournemouth 3-1 in the Championship this afternoon.

Goals from Jonathan Douglas, Alex Pritchard and Chris Long helped the West London club end a run of two straight defeats, and Warburton hailed their character as they won just days after his exit from the club was announced.

He told reporters: "It was the perfect end to a difficult week. It was a fantastic reaction by a very talented group of players, we had character and commitment, and we were outstanding.

"The whole team did well, all 18 of them involved, and Alex Pritchard was fabulous again. He enjoys those types of games.

"Bournemouth are a very good team. Eddie Howe and his team have done a great job assembling that squad and we knew the threat they'd pose. It would be disrespectful to the players for us not to put everything into the rest of the season. They deserve nothing less."

Brentford remain a point outside of the playoff positions and next play Blackpool on Tuesday.
