Bristol City defender Aden Flint has admitted that he probably "dodged a bullet" by not joining Birmingham City.
The 28-year-old was rumoured to be on the radar of Harry Redknapp in the summer but ultimately remained at Ashton Gate.
The Robins currently sit in the Championship playoff places, while the Blues are in the bottom three and Redknapp is no longer their manager.
"It was a stressful time in the summer not knowing what was going off," Flint is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying.
"Given the league position, you'd probably say 'yes, you've dodged a bullet' or whatever, but who knows what can happen in football.
"Like I say, I've just been working hard, enjoying my football, made my way back into the team and hopefully I can keep that. Now it's just down to me to keep my own individual place and also help the team keep up the great performances as well."
Flint has made 215 appearances for Bristol since his 2013 move from Swindon Town.
