Harry Redknapp: 'We've not given up on Aden Flint'

Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp says that the club are "still trying" to do a deal for Bristol City defender Aden Flint.

Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has said that his side are "still trying" to complete a deal for defender Aden Flint despite having two bids turned down by Bristol City.

The 28-year-old is a top target for Redknapp this summer but the Robins have rejected their two offers, with owner Steve Lansdown said to be seeking a fee of £10m.

Flint played just eight minutes of City's 3-1 win over Barnsley at the weekend and Redknapp insists that despite the lack of agreement between the two sides, a potential deal is "not dead" yet.

"There's not really any movement," he told reporters today. "I like him, he's a good player. But we've made an offer and at the moment as far as I know it wasn't accepted. That's where we are at with that one.

"He isn't £10m, that was only the chairman having a joke about it, he's definitely not £10m that's for sure. But he belongs to Bristol City, they can ask what they want, it's their right to do that. We can make an offer and if it's not accepted there's nothing we can do.

"It's not dead, we are still trying but I have got other options who have come to light in the past few days.

"I have got other people I am looking at as well, if Ryan [Shotton] goes I have got a couple of other people I can have a go for."

Redknapp has made just four senior signings so far this summer.
