Sean Dyche: 'We believe we can compete in Premier League'

Burnley manager Sean Dyche says that he and his players are confident of adapting to top-flight football on their return to the Premier League.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has acknowledged that the club must 'adapt' to life in the Premier League after winning the Championship last season.

The North-West side began the new campaign with a 1-0 at home to Swansea City and they remain favourites to be relegated at the end of the season.

However, Dyche is confident that his players will be able to change some aspects of their play in order to compete in the top flight, starting at home to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Dyche told reporters: "We know what to expect. They are very high-quality players, we know that tactical details change and we make the players aware of that.

"Within that, though, you have to have a belief in what you do. There's no lack of belief here but sometimes the opposition are just very good. We have to counter-act that, understand that but also play our football to be progressive and win games."

Burnley have failed to remain in the Premier League in each of their previous two years in the division.
