Canada and France will get a second chance at Olympic success when they meet in the bronze medal match at the City of Coventry Stadium on Thursday.
France were denied a berth in the Olympic final by world champions Japan on Monday, while Canada's gold medal dreams were crushed in extra time by rivals United States.
However, such is the format of the competition, the two losing semi-finalists will now fight for bronze in a third-place playoff.
Canada, who eliminated Team GB in the last eight, will be looking to pick themselves up from their dramatic loss to the US, which came courtesy of a 122nd-minute Alex Morgan winner.
Christine Sinclair, who scored a hat-trick in that defeat, has been one of the stars of the competition and will be hopeful of adding a medal to her tally of six goals.
France are competing in their first Olympic tournament, so will be eager to make history and grab their second chance at a medal.
Possible teams:
Canada: McLeod; Moscato, Wilkinson, Sesselmann, Nault; Matheson, Scott, Schmidt; Sinclair, Tancredi, Filigno
France: Bouhaddi; Renard, Georges, Franco, Bompastor; Necib, Bussaglia, Soubeyrand; Delie, Thomis, Le Sommer
