Millwall fail to score as they draw at Cardiff City

Cardiff City and Millwall rue their poor finishing as they draw 0-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Millwall failed to convert their late pressure into goals as they drew 0-0 at Cardiff City in the Championship this afternoon.

Millwall almost fell behind immediately as Joe Mason headed Scott Malone's cross just wide from inside the penalty area.

The Lions struggled in the early stages, and did not create a chance until Nicky Bailey flashed an effort marginally over the bar from 25 yards.

Cardiff remained in charge and continued to create opportunities as Sean Morrison headed a corner over the bar and Dan Harding almost scored an own goal.

Harding then had a shot at the right end, but his stinging volley was blocked, before Peter Whittingham forced David Forde to beat away his long-range attempt.

Joe Ralls almost broke the deadlock minutes before half time as his whipped cross cannoned back off the crossbar and flew to safety.

After the interval, Millwall almost took the lead as Mark Beevers volleyed against the woodwork from just a few yards out, before Lee Gregory forced the keeper into a flying save to keep out his goal-bound shot.

The visitors pushed for a late winner and almost found one as substitutes Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Ricardo Fuller combined, but the former scuffed his shot from a good position as Millwall had to settle for a point.
