Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Kolo Toure should be confirmed as a Hoops player on Sunday.
It was claimed on Saturday that the centre-back, who played under Rodgers at Liverpool, was undergoing a medical with the Scottish giants ahead of signing a short-term deal.
Rodgers has confirmed that the 35-year-old is close to signing on the dotted line and could be involved in their pre-season friendly against Barcelona next weekend.
"Should be completed tomorrow. I brought him into Liverpool to add that bit of experience, and you saw from his impact there, he was a very important player," Rodgers told reporters.
"He played in the Europa League final, and he was outstanding in the big games when I was there. He looks after himself, a wonderful professional. He has big experience, and he can really help the young players in the squad. We will probably look towards the weekend and give him game-time against Barcelona and assess where he is at."
Celtic lost 6-5 to Premier League champions Leicester City on penalties in Saturday's clash in the International Champions Cup.
