Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's meeting at The Valley as Charlton and Middlesbrough look to get their seasons off and running.

Both Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough can get their league campaigns off and running with victory at The Valley on Saturday.

The pair both succumbed to 2-1 defeats on the opening day as Charlton went down at Bournemouth and Middlesbrough were ousted at home by Leicester.

Since then, the first round of the Capital One Cup has passed and it was another bad night for Boro in front of their fans on Tuesday. League Two side Accrington mimicked Leicester in turning it around after Boro had taken a first-half lead. Charlton had no such trouble as they romped past Oxford 4-0.

Chris Powell will be hoping for more of the same in front of the Addicks faithful in two days' time. Simon Church's brace on debut against Oxford could see him earn a start in the league ahead of Marvin Sordell, while Danny Green may take the place of Bradley Pritchard, who was sent off at Bournemouth.

Boro boss Tony Mowbray will not need to make any enforced changes, but may freshen up his lineup to find a winning formula.
