Javier Pastore fires out early warning shot to Chelsea

Javier Pastore acknowledges that Paris Saint-Germain will come up against a "great" Chelsea team in the Champions League, but insists that his side can come out on top.

Javier Pastore has fired a warning shot to Chelsea by insisting that Paris Saint-Germain "have already shown" that they have enough to beat them.

The two sides meet in the last-16 stage of the Champions League next month, with the first leg taking place at the Parc des Princes.

PSG proved too strong for their opponents at the same venue last season, although a battling display from the Premier League leaders in the reverse leg saw them prevail.

Pastore, who scored in that clash, is quoted by Get French Football News as saying: "Chelsea is a great team but we have already shown that we can beat them.

"Someone like Jose Mourinho, who won everything deserves my admiration and my respect. My goal against Chelsea was great. I really enjoyed that moment but it was not enough in the end!"

The reigning French champions are currently seven points off the pace in the Ligue 1 table.
