Andre Villas-Boas says that he is prepared to axe players if they don't fit in the "project" at Stamford Bridge.

Andre Villas-Boas has warned his Chelsea players that they will be shown the door if they don't fit his "project".

The Portuguese coach has already offloaded striker Nicolas Anelka and defender Alex during the January transfer window.

Despite the former Porto boss claiming yesterday that he doesn't need the backing of his team, the 34-year-old has stated that individuals run the risk of being sold if they don't comply.

"Two players have already departed and further will depart in the future and won't make part of the project, which more or less they expect, but this is the reality of any football team," said Villas-Boas.

Meanwhile, Blues frontman Didier Drogba has admitted that it would be a "disaster" if Chelsea miss out on a top four-spot this season.
