Petr Cech pays tribute to "legend" Ashley Cole

With Ashley Cole likely to depart Chelsea, goalkeeper Petr Cech pays tribute to the left-back.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has insisted that Ashley Cole is one of the football's "best ever left-backs".

Former England international Cole suggested last night that with his contract due to expire next month, his eight-year stint at Stamford Bridge is due to end.

While there has been no official word from the Blues, Cech responded to Cole's revelation by tweeting: "Want to pay tribute to @TheRealAC3 - absolute legend & one of the best ever left-backs."

Cole, 33, has been linked with a host of clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
