Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has assured fans that he and his teammates will try to win as many trophies as possible this season.

The 30-year-old is back at Stamford Bridge for the new campaign after spending last season on loan with Real Madrid.

"Now, it feels good to see so many of my old teammates and I can assure all the fans we are definitely going to give it a go this season," Essien told the club's official website.

"All the trophies are up for grabs and you can rest assured we will do all we can to bring as many as we can to the Bridge."

Chelsea continue their pre-season tour of the USA on Wednesday when they take on Madrid in Miami.
