Midfield duo Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel are closing in on a return from injury with Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas may have midfield duo Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel at his disposal for this weekend's trip to Everton.

England international Lampard has missed Chelsea's last three matches with a calf injury.

However, he has now returned to training and is expected to be part of the squad that travels to Merseyside.

Mikel has been absent since mid-December with a hamstring problem that he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur.

Like Lampard, the Nigerian also took part in training this week and will be available provided he doesn't suffer a setback.
