New Chelsea signing Juan Mata insists that he will do well at the London club.

Chelsea's latest signing Juan Mata has said that he is confident he will do well at the London club.

The 23-year-old insists that he is ready for the physicality of the Premier League after seeing former teammate David Silva adapt to the English game at Manchester City.

"I know English football is a physical game, but I am sure I can adapt and get physically stronger if I need to," Mata told the club's official website. "We have seen players like David Silva manage it, and I am similar to him so I am sure I will be fine here.

"I have my own qualities and am sure I will be able to use those to my advantage to make myself a success in England.

"It is a great move for me and I think I can do well here, and grow as a player and as a person in a new country."

The Spain international, who arrived at the club earlier this week, is not expected to start in the side's weekend fixture against Norwich.
