Newly-appointed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists that his time in Italy and Spain has made him a better manager.

Newly-appointed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that his time with Inter Milan and Real Madrid has made him a better manager.

Speaking to the club's official television channel, the Portuguese has also vowed to help Chelsea evolve in the new season.

"I wanted to win England, Spain and Italy and I did that. I had my second Champions League. I enjoy being in different counties and knowing different football cultures," he said in an interview.

"It was important for my evolution as both a player and a coach. The plan is always the same. Evolution at the highest possible level. I left Chelsea in 2007 and since then I have spoken about Chelsea many, many times."

Mourinho, who previously left the club in 2007, will be officially presented to the media on Monday.
