Fernando Torres: Chelsea "depend too much on individuality"

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres says that his side rely on individual players rather than tactics.

Fernando Torres has admitted that it is more "difficult" for him to produce his best form at Chelsea than it was at Liverpool.

The Spanish international made the switch to Stamford Bridge in January 2011 having scored 81 goals in 142 appearances on Merseyside.

He has struggled to replicate that form with the Blues, though, and when asked the reason, the 29-year-old conceded that he has found it tough to play in a side that are dependent upon "too much on individuality".

"It's difficult in this team because we really depend too much on individuality," he told UEFA's official website.

"We have players like [Eden] Hazard, [Juan] Mata, Oscar and [Frank] Lampard — they are talented players so we are not speaking about tactics. It's a bit more difficult than my time with [Rafael Benitez] in Liverpool.

"But it's good as well because we know what we have to do and we have the extra help from the talent of our players. It's not been easy for anyone but the team are improving."

Torres has scored 20 goals this season, but only seven have come in the Premier League.
