Fernando Torres has admitted that he owes Chelsea supporters after what he has described as a difficult start to his career at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old has scored just five goals in 30 appearances since joining the club for £50m from Liverpool in January.
Torres has now conceded that his time at Chelsea so far has not gone to plan.
"Whenever you go somewhere new, you expect to have difficulties," he said. "But whenever I have had difficult times, I look at myself and say, 'Yes, I can get back to my level.'
"But I am in debt to the Chelsea fans. They have always supported me.
"And I promise them the one thing I have never done and will never do in my life is give up."
Torres will take on former club Liverpool this weekend.
