Chelsea are working to keep hold of defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly desperate to keep hold of Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen.

The defensive duo are both out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer, and Barcelona are believed to be keen to sign the pair on free transfers ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Bayern Munich have also been strongly linked with Christensen, with the Bundesliga champions looking to replace Niklas Sule, who is leaving Allianz Arena on a free transfer.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have no intention of letting either player move on, with the club working to sign them to new contracts.

Barcelona are allegedly becoming increasingly confident of signing Azpilicueta, with the Spaniard thought to be keen on a fresh challenge at this stage of his career.

Antonio Rudiger's contract with Thomas Tuchel's side is also set to expire this summer, with Chelsea also facing a battle to keep hold of the Germany international.
