Chelsea could secure the signature of Vitesse midfielder Marco van Ginkel in the near future, according to reports.
The Europa League winners have been frequently linked with the 20-year-old since the end of the summer, and a deal to bring the Netherlands Under-21 international to Stamford Bridge is now a step closer to being concluded.
Ajax were also in the market for Van Ginkel, but general manager Marc Overmars has admitted to Voetbal International that "they can't beat Chelsea's financial resources".
According to The Mirror, that has paved the way for Chelsea to tie up the transfer when Van Ginkel has returned from the European Under-21 Championships.
Van Ginkel had previously insisted that no decision would be made on his future until the Netherlands had finishing competing in Israel.
