Corinthians confirm Tottenham Hotspur interest in Paulinho

Corinthians director Duilio Monteiro Alves admits that Tottenham Hotspur "have an interest" in Brazil midfielder Paulinho.

Corinthians director Duilio Monteiro Alves has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur "have an interest" in Brazil midfielder Paulinho.

However, Monteiro Alves stresses that the North London club have yet to make an offer for the 24-year-old, whose current contract is due to expire in 24 months.

"In the last two years and the last four transfer windows there were offers, so imagine now?" Monteiro Alves told UOL.

"It won't be any different, especially considering his performances for Corinthians in the last year and now in the Confederations Cup.

"We know Tottenham have an interest, but nothing official yet. We are waiting for the next few days to talk about official and concrete facts."

Paulinho's agent is currently in England, while the player himself is with the Brazil national team, who face Mexico on Wednesday.
