Frank de Boer in line for £2m payoff from Crystal Palace?

Crystal Palace will reportedly have to pay Frank de Boer £2m in compensation after taking the decision to sack him.

Frank de Boer is reportedly in line to receive around £2m in compensation following his sacking by Crystal Palace yesterday.

The 47-year-old was relieved of his duties after just 77 days in charge following a disastrous start to the new season which has seen the club lose their first four Premier League games.

According to The Times, the Dutchman penned a three-year contract worth £6m when he took over at Selhurst Park in June as replacement for Sam Allardyce, who decided to step down after guaranteeing the club's survival in the Premier League.

The newspaper claims that De Boer's contract contained a clause guaranteeing him the equivalent of a year's salary - £2m - should he be terminated from the role early.

Former England manager Roy Hodgson is expected to be appointed as De Boer's successor at Selhurst Park within the next 24 hours.
