Julian Speroni wants Keith Millen stay

Julian Speroni wants Keith Millen to remain at Crystal Palace, even after a new manager is appointed.

Goalkeeper Julian Speroni has urged Crystal Palace to retain the services of caretaker boss Keith Millen, even if he is not given the manager's job at Selhurst Park on a permanent basis.

The 47-year-old has been in charge of the senior side ever since Tony Pulis decided to step down from the position two days before the new Premier League season got underway.

Millen is not expected to be given the job full time, but Speroni believes that his experience could prove invaluable to whoever takes on the role.

"We know Keith very well and respect him a lot. If he does not get the job, who better to help the new man who comes in? He knows the players and the whole club inside out," BBC Sport quotes the Argentine as saying.

Neil Warnock, who managed Palace between 2007 and 2010, is the new favourite with the bookmakers to fill the vacancy.
