Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has reopened talks with free agent Carlton Cole in the last 24 hours, as the search for new strikers continues at Selhurst Park.
Cole held negotiations with the Eagles two weeks ago but failed to agree terms, preferring to look elsewhere for a new club instead.
Despite reported interest from Hull City, Queens Park Rangers and a pair of Turkish clubs, a move has failed to materialse, leading Cole back to South London and a fresh round of talks with Palace.
Holloway has held discussions with Cole and is confident of signing the forward and fellow free agent Dan Gosling early this week, according to The Mirror.
Palace are also currently running the rule over Austrian striker Adthe Nuhiu, who has spent the past week on trial with the Eagles.
