Paul Dickov sure of Doncaster Rovers future

Paul Dickov insists that he will remain in charge of Doncaster Rovers after the club's relegation from the Championship this afternoon.

Paul Dickov has insisted that he will remain in charge of Doncaster Rovers after the club's relegation from the Championship this afternoon.

Rovers were ready to escape the drop until Birmingham City's injury-time equaliser against Bolton Wanderers drew them level on 44 points, with Donny the team going down because of their inferior goal difference.

"You can look at our result today and results elsewhere, but it's over the course of the season," Dickov told reporters after the game.

"You probably deserve to be where you finish in the table."

When asked if he would still be in charge next season, the Scot insisted that the board did want to keep him.

Dickov said that he would speak to the board about recruitment, keeping a core of 13 contracted players to build around as they look to earn promotion back to the Championship.
