England manager Roy Hodgson reveals that the ankle injury picked up by John Terry during the win over Moldova could rule the defender out of Tuesday's clash with Ukraine.

England manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that he is concerned by the injury picked up by John Terry during the 5-0 win over Moldova on Friday night.

Despite their clinical finishing in front of goal in Chisinau, Hodgson has claimed that his side's defensive display was one of the highlights of the performance in the World Cup qualifier.

The 65-year-old said: "In the first half, not only did we attack well but we defended well. We were quick to win the ball back when we didn't have it."

However, Hodgson has hinted that Terry could miss Tuesday's clash with Ukraine after limping off the pitch with an ankle injury in the latter stages of the match.

"My only concern is the injury to John Terry. I don't think it's a very serious injury, but Tuesday is very close. I will have to wait and see what the doctors tell me," he added.

Frank Lampard has praised Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Tom Cleverley for their displays in the victory.
