Roy Hodgson coy on England job

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson refuses to speculate over who might fill the vacant England managerial post.

West Bromich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has refused to speculate over reports linking him to the vacant England managerial post.

Hodgson, 64, has managed at international level before with Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Finland.

However, the former Liverpool manager believes that it is not right for him to talk about whom the FA might appoint to replace Fabio Capello.

"I don't think it's right to say whether you are interested or not," he told Sky Sports News.

"The FA need to decide who they think are the right people. They need to decide what candidates are out there.

"I think it's arrogant to rule yourself in jobs or rule yourself out of jobs when there is no indication that anyone is going to want you in the first place."

Despite the links with Hodgson, Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp remains the clear favourite for the job.
