Stuart Pearce says that he 'regrets' an alleged racial slur he made towards Paul Ince in 1994.

Stuart Pearce has said that he 'regrets' an alleged racial slur he made towards Paul Ince in 1994.

The allegations were raised when Pearce was named as interim coach for England's friendly with Holland next week.

"It was something I apologised for at the time," Pearce said.

"Myself and Paul have no ill feeling towards each other, but it's certainly something I regretted at the time."

Pearce yesterday announced his team to face the Netherlands.
