Roy Hodgson pleased with England youngsters

Roy Hodgson is pleased with the England youngsters' performances in the Premier League so far this season.

England manager Roy Hodgson has said that he is pleased to have "a major headache" when it comes to choosing his squad for the 2014 World Cup finals.

The 66-year-old hails the performance of some of the younger English players in the Premier League, claiming that it is a "fascinating" prospect for him.

"At the moment, I've seen a lot of our England players and contenders for England places playing extremely well," he told Sky Sports News. "I wish I could bottle up some of the form and keep it.

"It's quite fascinating at the moment going to games, the number of players getting games, especially some of the youngsters, is good.

"There are a lot of teams fielding English players in their lineup at the moment and I'm seeing a lot of good performances. If I had to pick a team for the World Cup today, it would be a major headache."

England have been drawn against Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy in Group D.
