John Stones misses England training, Phil Jones takes part in non-contact session

John Stones misses England training with a knee injury, while Phil Jones takes part in a non-contact session as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

Everton defender John Stones was absent from England training in Portugal today, while Manchester United's Phil Jones had a light session due to a shoulder injury.

The Three Lions squad have been spending the week at a training camp as part of their preparations for next month's World Cup in Brazil.

Manager Roy Hodgson recently revealed that Stones, who is on the standby list, would replace Jones should the 22-year-old fail to recover from his shoulder problem.

According to Sky Sports News, the United player took part in a non-contact session in Portugal today, while Stones missed training altogether after tweaking his knee on Tuesday.

England's first Group D game is against Italy in Manaus on June 14.
