Valencia concede four goals away at Espanyol as their quest for Champions League football takes a knock.

Valencia's hopes of securing Champions League football for next season have been dealt a blow with a 4-0 loss away at Espanyol this afternoon.

The home side held a two-goal lead at the break courtesy of strikes from Cristian Gomez and Joan Verdu.

Espanyol's domination continued after the restart and they made the points safe in the 58th minute when Alvaro converted a cross from Sergio Garcia.

Kalu Uche made it 4-0 ten minutes from time when he slotted in from a narrow angle following a through pass from Victor Sanchez.

Malaga will draw level with Valencia in third spot if they beat Real Sociedad later today.
