Tim Cahill open to moving to Middle East

Tim Cahill suggests that an Everton exit could be on the cards by refusing to rule out a move to Middle East club Al Nasr.

Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has hinted that he may abandon Goodison Park for the Middle East amid reported interest from Al Nasr.

The Australia international has been linked with a switch to the Riyadh-based side this summer.

While Toffees boss David Moyes has insisted that the 32-year-old is staying put, Cahill has suggested that he may ponder a departure.

"I know what the experience is like [playing in the Middle East]," Cahill told AAP. "I have lived and breathed it. I have played in two Asia Cups and I have got great connections with a lot of important people overseas.

"I come on holiday in the Middle East a lot and I embrace the weather and the culture. All these sort of elements of speculation will be dealt with after camp.

"It is always a compliment. I am a massive fan of the Middle East, the cultures, the people. I have travelled a lot and I respect them a lot. For me, it is just to focus on the Socceroos and we will see what happens later."

It has been rumoured that Cahill could receive up to £2.5m in his first year at Al Nasr.
