Everton have reportedly rejected rumours that they are considering a move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a possible switch to his boyhood club following a season-long loan spell at Marseille during the 2012-13 campaign.
Despite Barton's agent claiming that he had alerted manager Roberto Martinez to the midfielder's interest, Everton are looking at other targets, according to The Express.
Meanwhile, Barton has stated that he would prefer to return to Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
