Everton reportedly target former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who could be allowed to leave Juventus for free in January.

Everton have reportedly joined the race for 30-year-old Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who has been linked with a move away from Juventus.

The Turin giants signed Ramsey upon the expiry of his Arsenal contract in 2019 and are now said to be willing to let him depart on a free transfer in January, with the Wales international having only featured three times in Serie A so far this season.

According to The Sun, Everton have joined West Ham United in the race for the midfielder, who is said to be open for a return to the English top flight, but the reports also suggest that the Welshman's wages could be a major stumbling block for both clubs.

Such a move would see Ramsey return to the Premier League after previously spending an 11-year spell at Arsenal, making 371 appearances and contributing 65 goals and 65 assists for the Gunners.

Since his move to the Italian giants, he has featured 69 times, hitting six goals and providing six assists, while adding a Serie A, a Coppa Italia and a Supercoppa Italiana to his trophy cabinet.
