Having suffered a 4-2 defeat to Lazio in their opening fixture, Feyenoord got their Europa League journey up and running with a 6-0 thrashing of Sturm Graz.
However, Arne Slot's men have failed to win any of their subsequent two league games since then, losing 4-3 to Feyenoord and playing out a 1-1 draw against NEC Nijmegen.
As a result, De Stadionclub have dropped down to fourth place in the Eredivisie table, three points adrift of division leaders AZ Alkmaar.
The Rotterdam-based club now set out to take control of Group F in Europe's secondary club tournament as all four teams in the group currently boast three points.
Winless in their last three games on the road across all competitions, Thursday's visitors will be eager to turn things around away from home.
FC Midtjylland had to make do with a share of the spoils following a 1-1 stalemate against Viborg FF in Sunday afternoon's meeting between the teams.
Albert Capellas's men went behind to Jay-Roy Grot's opener in the 42nd minute before drawing level through Kristoffer Olsson barely 90 second later.
This came off the back of wins against Copenhagen and Lazio, the latter of which was secured in grand style courtesy of a 5-1 thrashing.
Unbeaten in three straight matches in front of their fans following defeats in the four home games prior to that, Thursday's hosts set out to continue their upturn in form on home turf.

Feyenoord's Alireza Jahanbakhsh was at the double in his last Europa League outing, and he will be looking to deliver the goods once again.
Lutsharel Geertruida will be pushing for a start in this one having made his first appearance for the away side since August last time out.
Twenty-three-year-old Junior Brumado has missed each of Midtjylland's last three outings and is also ruled out of Thursday's contest as well.
Despite seeing his three-game scoring streak come to an end over the weekend, Brazilian midfielder Evander is definitely one to keep an eye on here.
FC Midtjylland possible starting lineup:
Lossl; Paulinho, Sviatchenko, Dalsgaard, Thychosen; Evander, Martinez, Olsson; Dreyer, Kaba, Sisto
Feyenoord possible starting lineup:
Bijlow; Lopez, Hancko, Trauner, Geertruida; Kokcu, Timber; Idrissi, Dilrosun, Jahanbakhsh; Danilo
We say: FC Midtjylland 1-2 Feyenoord
The teams are in imperious goalscoring form coming into this one so we anticipate an open contest with loads of chances at both ends. That said, we just about fancy the visitors to come away with all three points in the end.
