Patrice Evra asked to explain "tramp" remarks

Patrice Evra is asked to explain his verbal attack on four French football pundits during a television interview.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has been asked by the French Football Federation to explain remarks he made about four football pundits during a French television interview.

It has been reported that Evra called Bixente Lizarazu and three other pundits "tramps" on TV programme Telefoot after they had criticised the apparent team-talk the Manchester United man gave his France teammates during their clash with Belarus in September.

A statement from the FFF read: "Following the remarks made by Patrice Evra in an interview to Telefoot after France v Finland, president Noel Le Graet and coach Didier Deschamps, while recognising that no attack was made against the FFF, the France team, the coach or the players, have decided to ask Patrice Evra to come to explain certain statements about the broadcasters."

Following Evra's rallying call at half time, France went on to beat Belarus 4-2 in their World Cup qualifying group match.
