Freiburg and Hoffenheim share the spoils in 1-1 draw

Freiburg and Hoffenheim settle for a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga, as the visitors come back to steal a late point at the Mage-Solar Stadion.

Freiburg and Hoffenheim have had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga this afternoon, as the visitors came back to steal a late point at the Mage-Solar Stadion.

Hoffenheim's Kai Herdling created the game's first chance as he found space before lashing his effort straight into a defender.

Roberto Firmino almost put the visitors ahead when he let fly with a long-range shot, which flew just wide of the post with the keeper scrambling to get across his goal.

Felix Klaus looked to put Freiburg ahead in the second half despite Hoffenheim's dominance in the shot department, as the striker saw his effort saved in the centre of goal.

Admir Mehmedi found himself with time and space in the box to square to Jonathan Schmid, who made no mistake in crashing the ball home to give Freiburg the lead in the 68th minute.

It looked as if the hosts would grab all three points, but for Anthony Modeste who stole a point with a standout effort from outside of the box in the 85th minute, which flew into the bottom corner to earn Hoffenheim a draw away from home.
