Slavisa Jokanovic "frustrated" by Norwich City draw

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic believes that his side are still making the same mistakes as last season following their 1-1 draw with Norwich City on the opening day.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has admitted that his side made the same mistakes as last season during their 1-1 draw with Norwich City this afternoon.

The Canaries looked set to make a winning start to the new campaign after Russell Martin's own goal had given them the lead, but a late equaliser from Nelson Oliveira ensured a share of the spoils at Craven Cottage.

Jokanovic believes that the leveller may have been offside, but was more concerned by his side failing to kill off the game when they had the chance.

"I am frustrated as I could not complain about offside. I'm not sure if it was legal or illegal, simply we have dropped two points. But I see no point in complaining - it's about looking forward, not about the past," he told reporters.

"It's always disappointing to concede at that late point in the game. We are in a similar situation to last season when we were creating chances but not scoring enough. Today we weren't clinical enough at the crucial moment. We didn't kill the game.

"This was the story of last season and we have repeated it. We created many chances but were not clinical. It's a frustrating situation but we must look forward and be ready for the next game. Pre-season was strange, I didn't find my team fresh for today's game. I can be satisfied with many positives. All our new players showed great ambition and desire. It's still early."

Fulham next face Wycombe Wanderers away in the League Cup on Tuesday.
