Daniel Farke: 'No problems with Nelson Oliveira'

New Norwich City manager Daniel Farke insists that he has no problem with Nelson Oliveira's emotional celebration following his equaliser against Fulham.

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has insisted that he has "no problem" with Nelson Oliveira following the striker's celebration during this afternoon's 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Oliveira was left out of Farke's first competitive team selection, but came off the bench to score a late equaliser as the Canaries earned a point on the opening weekend of the new season.

The Portuguese striker then ran over to Farke, took off his shirt and pointed to his name, but the new boss played down reports of an issue between the pair.

"Nelson is from Portugal and very emotional. It was really kind of him to show me the shirt. Hopefully that was not a sign for me because I can't do without him. He's a really good guy and has a good character but sometimes emotions burn a little bit in him. But there are no problems. I'm really content with the guy today and really happy with his movement," he told reporters.

"What he did was quite normal because all the players should want to play for 90 minutes in nearly 60 games this season. That's not possible as one of our greatest strengths is to have two of the best strikers in the whole league. We have to recognise the record of Cameron Jerome and his quality.

"I'm really proud of the guys because this was a hard first game against one of the toughest opponents in the league and we had to do without so many experienced players. That was a young team out there. Fulham dominated possession the first half but we had better chances and should have scored."

Norwich's next match sees them host Swindon Town in the League Cup on Tuesday.
