Fulham to appoint Alan Curbishley as manager?

Fulham are contemplating sacking Rene Meulensteen and putting Alan Curbishley in charge of the team, according to a report.

Fulham will appoint Alan Curbishley as their new manager if results do not improve in the coming weeks, according to a report.

The Mirror claims that the 56-year-old has been regularly conducting training sessions since becoming the club's technical director over Christmas and could replace Rene Meulensteen as the boss.

Meulensteen, who himself succeeded fellow Dutchman Martin Jol as the Cottagers boss earlier this season, has lost eight of his 10 Premier League matches in charge of the London outfit.

Fulham, who went down 3-0 to Southampton at home on Saturday, are currently at the foot of the league table.
