Rene Meulensteen pleased with new players

Rene Meulensteen hopes that Fulham's new signings can soon improve the club's fortunes.

Fulham head coach Rene Meulensteen has insisted that his side's fortunes will begin to improve once the new signings are better integrated into the squad.

William Kvist and Lewis Holtby - both of whom came in on loan - made their debuts in the 3-0 home defeat to Southampton, and Meulensteen hopes that record-signing Kontantinos Mitroglou will soon be able to take part.

"It was William's first game in the Premier League coming from the Bundesliga," he told the club's official website. "Lewis is a fantastic footballer and it speaks volumes for them that they've chosen to come to Fulham.

"We've assessed him, we'll train him and see where he's at. He's coming back from injury but he's fine and we just need to see his condition.

"We want to integrate the new faces as quickly as we can. If we think he's ready to go, then we'll use him."

Fulham dropped to the bottom of the Premier League table with the defeat.
