Fulham manager Martin Jol accepts that he may be forced to sell striker Andy Johnson.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has refused to rule out the possibility of selling striker Andy Johnson.

The 30-year-old's current contract expires at the end of the season and reports have suggested that Johnson is considering a move away from Craven Cottage.

Jol is keen to keep hold of the player beyond the current campaign but has conceded that he may be forced to part ways with the former Birmingham City and Crystal Palace centre-forward.

"We've talked to him over the last month and hopefully we can agree something, but if not we have to get on with it," said Jol.

"If there was a club interested in him you could think about [selling him], but if not I'm happy for him to stay here until the end of the season.

"But for now we need to get an agreement. Last week I thought we were close. We will talk with him again today and hope we can agree something."

Johnson scored his first goal of the season during last week's 1-1 draw with FC Twente.
